People have many different ways of getting to the University of Wollongong.

But do they all know, there is free public transport?

There are 4 different free shuttle buses to get you to and from the University.

They are:

  1. The Gong Shuttle
  2. North Gong Shuttle
  3. Gwynneville/Keiraville Shuttle &
  4. Innovation Campus Shuttle

The Gong Shuttle connects between the City of Wollongong and the University, which includes stops such as the Wollongong Railway Station, North Beach, and the Innovation Campus. The Gong Shuttle Buses operate between 7.00am and 6.00pm weekdays, every 10 minutes and between 6.00pm and 10.00pm, it operates every 20 minutes. There are two routes, the 55A and the 55C. The 55A, is the Anti-Clockwise route, which starts at the University, then moves onto the Hospital, Crown St Mall, Wollongong Harbour, the Innovation Campus and back to UOW.

The other shuttle bus, the North Gong Shuttle, also has two routes, the 9 and the 9N. The North Gong Shuttle operates between the North Wollongong Railway Station and UOW. It starts everyday from 7.36am in the morning until 9.52pm at night, and it meets up with trains whenever possible.

The other bus is for those that live close by, for those that live in Gwynneville & Keiraville. It stops at the Weerona College, Keiraview, Marketview, Wollongong Railway Station and the Hospital. It operates between 7.45am-1.00pm and 3.30pm-10.00pm, a with a short break at 11.00am.

The UOW library is building 16 in the campus, next to the Panizzi Cafe, and oppostie the Communications Centre.

The opening hours of the library are:

  •  Monday to Friday 8.00am-10.00pm
  • Saturdays 10.00am-6.00pm and
  • Sundays 10.00am-6.00pm

The UOW Library is a great place, to get some work and assignments done, or even just to relax and unwind and read a book or a magazine.

A lot of people use the library each day, even during recess breaks during the year.

The Library has even setup a MyLibrary page and it helps you save time to find library content, without going to the library itself.

The university also offers rooms for study purposes and similar things. You are allowed to use the room for 2 hours per day, and it must be cleared 30 minutes before closing time.

Both buses and the library play a big part in Unilife, and will continue to do so for a long time.11132416_10153148633828503_1087184750_o
